the in-between, the intersections, the borderlands is where i belong. and i’m not alone.

and our borderlands, as radically different as they can be, often have a similar effect on us: their temporary inhabitants.

context: it is very rare that any part of these-our borderlands has such pre-existing (infra-)structures as there are in the centers. (infra-)structures that, along with producing the rigidity, normativity and predictability that many of us move with/in our borderlands to avoid and reject, also produce / make it easier to experience the necessities of a baseline level of integrity and felt inter-connection with others that we also require and desire.

effect: and so, we that move with/in these-our borderlands, have to either get good/better at identifying and shifting around to the ephemeral pockets of connection with said central (infra-)structures that temporally arise with/in our roaming grounds, and/or: we make our own. pockets of connection and/or (infra-)structures themselves.
